BERNEHEISEL RACE CARS TO AWARD ULMS CHAMPIONS
Bernheisel Race Cars Inc., of Jonestown, Pennsylvania will award the 2006 ULMS BRC Lazer Series dirt late model champion and Rookie of the Year champion a new Lazer G2 chassis. The United Late Model Series will open their 2006 campaign on Saturday, April 29 at McKean County Raceway with the $2000 to win, Jim Duffy Memorial.
ULMS Director Chris Zuver, commented, “I am very excited about the upcoming season. With Bernheisel Race Cars coming on board and offering our series champion and our rookie of the year a new car, this is real good incentive for some young drivers that can not afford a new rolling chassis to get into a new car for the 2007 season without the big cost. Bernheisel’s client list has been growing over the past few years as he obviously has done well in his own brand on the MACS and the old Renegade circuit. Dan Stone of Thompson, PA, Alan Sagi of Hagerstown, MD and Todd Andrews of Eldred, PA are a few of the notable drivers that run and have won in the Lazer brand.â€
For the ULMS series champion and rookie of the year to obtain the new Lazer G2 chassis they must purchase the following: front and rear suspension kits, steering kit, brake kit and rear-end kit for $5,995.00. The total package of the new car is valued at $11,000. The new BRC Lazer G2 must also been raced at least ten (10) times in 2007. Also the 3rd, 5th and 7th place car in ULMS points will receive gift certificates good toward any purchase at Bernheisel Race Cars Inc.
To be eligible for the ULMS rookie of the year, drivers must register with ULMS before the first event of the season. The driver MUST have never won a ULMS feature event or have less than five years driving experience in a late model. ULMS “Rookie of the Year” points will count at all point events in 2006. Upon registering for ULMS “Rookie of the Year”, driver may not compete for “Rookie of the Year” in future racing seasons. The driver selected as ULMS “Rookie of the Year” will be determined by highest finish in points and declared “Rookie of the Year” at end of the season.
The chase for the new Lazer’s starts April 29 at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, PA, where the winner will walk away with a minimum of $2000 for his 30 laps of effort. For more information, check the new ULMS website out at www.unitedlatemodelseries.com
