Rain and Cold Once Again Prevail – McKean Forced to Cancel

Mother Nature continues her vendetta against McKean County and ULMS, as rain and cold weather have once again forced track officials to pull the plug on racing for tonight (Thursday, May 22).
Makeup dates for the twice postponed Jim Duffy Memorial race for the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models, as well as the UEMS race for the emods will be announced as they become available.

Last fall, when ULMS Racing Series Director, Chris Zuver announced he was adding on the Emod division to the super late model series, his long range goal was to have both the late models and Emods on the same program on the same night. Well starting on Thursday, that goal will be reach when the Northern Tier Inc., United Late Model Series will return for the make up Jim Duffy Memorial for the super late models. Also on the card will be the United Emod Series as they will be making up their cancelled event from this past Friday night.
This will be the lineup for Thursday’s ULMS Racing Series night.. The Northern Tier Inc. United Late Model Series will be running the above mentioned Jim Duffy Memorial. The event will pay $2000 to win and the winner will be a guaranteed starter for the Independent Racing Series event later this summer at MCR. Fans can expect to see defending ULMS champion, Bob Close, David Scott, Todd Andrews, Ron Davies, Dutch Davies, Luke Hoffner, Dave Hess, Boom Briggs and many more.
Close is the all time winner in the ULMS series, while Scott and Ron Davies each have five wins. Fans will see the late model teams draw for their qualifying heat positions and the top twelve heat qualifiers will redraw for a pair of Andrews Auto Salvage dash events to determine the top twelve starting spots in the Jim Duffy Memorial. Race teams from New York, Pennsylvania and Canada is expected. Late Model teams are reminded that there is a $20 entry fee.
The United Emod Series will also be running for a $750 first place prize and the winner will be a guaranteed starter for Saturday’s Border Skirmish event for the Emods at MCR. The UEMS Emods are led by Olean’s, Randy Hall, Fenelton, PA driver, Russ Dunn, Dave Hess, Rich Michael, Al Brewer, George Catazano of Hudson, NY and many others.
The Emod teams will also draw for their starting positions and the top twelve qualifiers will redraw for their starting spots in the 25 lap main event. The UEMS teams are reminded that there is a $10 entry fee. A very good quality field of cars is expected for both the Northern Tier Inc. ULMS late models and the United Emod Series.
Also on the card will be a regular show for the Maynards Electric FASTRAK Late Models, Yum Yums super stocks, NE Micro and Graphics street stocks, Hallock Enterprises mini stocks and pure stocks. There will be no hot laps for any division on Thursday night.

On Saturday, MCR will come back to life as the FASTRAK Northeast Regional Late Model Series battle for the $1200 to win event. The Advantage Rental Emods will run their first of eight Border Skirmish events in conjunction with Little Valley Speedway. The Emods will battle for $650 to win. A full card of Yum Yums Super Stocks, street stocks, Hallock Enterprises Mini Stocks and pure stocks will be on the card. THE UEMS event for Friday, May 16 at McKean County Raceway was canceled due to the rain. This event will be made up on this coming THURSDAY, MAY 22 AT 7PM.

With the IRS LATE MODELS HAVING TIME TRIALS AT 7PM, MCR Management has notified us that due to time restraints (with the curfew) there will be NO UEMS HOT LAPS.
