United Emod Series Heads to McKean County Raceway May 16
May 6, 2008
McKean Co. Raceway has become the “unofficial” home of ULMS Racing Series over the past few years, as the track has been a staple for the ULMS late models. That will change on Friday, May 16 as the new United Emod Series (UEMS) makes their debut at the 1/3 mile oval with their second event on the 2008 tour.
The UEMS series debuted on April 5 at Mercer Raceway Park with twenty-eight emods on hand from three states. Perennial emod star, Randy Hall of Olean, NY picked up the series inaugural win over Russ Dunn, Shawn Shingledecker, Dave Hess and George Catanzano. With the all the northeast tracks now in action, a larger field of cars is expected for the 25 lap, $750 to win event.
Fans can expect to see the MCR faithful of Tim Peterson, Travis Asel, Billy Peterson, John Woodward jr., defending track champion, Rich Michael on hand as well. Other notable entries should be John Lacki, Jack Young of Thompson, Ohio, Quincy Turner, Justin Carlson, Al Brewer, Craig and Kyle Bedell along with many more from the region.
The top ten in points currently has Hall with a four point lead over Russ Dunn, followed by Hess, Shingledecker, Catanzano, with Butch Lambert and Woodward tied for sixth, Brewer sits in eighth followed by, Carlson and Bruce Powell.
Also on the program that night will be the Independent Regional Series (IRS) for the super late models as they compete in the 3rd annual Dave Lundgren Memorial that will pay $5000 to win. The street stocks and 4 cylinder mini stocks will also compete.
Ticket prices for the May 16 event are as follow: Family Pack (2 adults and 4 children ages 1-16) will be $35. Adult (age 17-61) $18, Sr Citizen (62+) $16, Youth (11-16) $10, children under ten will be admitted free and Pit Passes will be $30.
