ULMS LATE MODELS PREPARE FOR 08 OPENER AT LITTLE VALLEY
June 13, 2008
It’s been five years since the Northern Tier Inc United Late Model Series was last at Little Valley Speedway. On Thursday, July 3, the annual FREEDOM DAZE program will feature the only super dirt late model series that will be gracing the ½ mile oval in Little Valley, NY.
Race fans should see the defending ULMS champion, Bob Close, David Scott, Boom Briggs, John Lobb, Chris Farrell, Greg Oakes, Todd Andrews, Dutch Davies, Luke Hoffner, Jason Dupont and World of Outlaw Rookie of the Year candidate, Vic Coffey has expressed interest in returning to Little Valley as well.
ULMS is expecting a trio of new cars to be on hand at Little Valley. New teams following the ULMS circuit will be Dennis Lunger, Shawn McGarvey and Denny Fenton. Obviously they will have to contend with Little Valley regulars, Ron Davies, Brent Rhebergan, Kirk Bradley, Jeff Hoffman, Mickey Wright, Al Brewer, Doug Ricotta and others.
ULMS Racing Series director, Chris Zuver commented, “I am very excited in returning to Little Valley. It has been a long time since we had a show there and the past shows that we had were some very exciting events. Dick Barton, the 2001 and 2003 champion was crowned at Little Valley. Dick just came off a great win at Little Valley so he will be looking to back up his latest win at Little Valley.”
With the inclement weather of late April and throughout the month of May, the Northern Tier Incorporated United Late Model Series finally gets their 2008 season off and running. The 30 lap event will pay $3000 to the winner. Drivers will draw for their heat qualifying positions with the top twelve qualifiers from the heat events redrawing for a pair of Andrews Auto Salvage Dashes that will determine the starting lineup for the ULMS FREEDOM DAZE event.
Also on the program will be the T3 358 DIRT Modifieds from central New York. Joining the ULMS Late Models and the T3 Modifieds will be the super stocks running for a $1000 along with the street stocks and mini stocks.
Gates open at 3PM, hot laps at 6PM and racing is at 7PM. Adult admission is $15 and children under 12 are free. Pit gate fee is $25. ULMS registration is $20.
