UEMS PREPARES FOR TRI CITY LABOR DAY CLASSIC

The United Emod Series will head to Tri City Speedway in Franklin, PA for the two day Oil Region Labor Day Classic. The UEMS teams will run in a pair of $1000 to win events on Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31.

This will mark the first time that the UEMS teams will be at Tri City Speedway as they race for biggest prize money of the year on the circuit. Chatham, New York driver, George Catanzano is the current United Emod Series point leader. The IMCA standout from eastern New York has been Mr. Consistent in the pair of UEMS events this year to date. Young, John Woodward Jr. of Franklinville, New York currently sits second in point’s just six points behind Catanzano. Both drivers have not won yet this year. Inaugural UEMS winner, Randy Hall sits tied for third with Rich Michael Jr. Tri City Speedway standout, Shawn Shingledecker sits alone in fifth, just a point behind Hall and Michael. Dirt late model veteran Al Brewer sits three points behind Shingledecker in sixth. Other UEMS teams expected on hand will be Vic Vena, Justin Tatlow, Kyle Bedell, Russ Dunn, Darren Tarabori, Tim Peterson, Justin Carlson and Craig Bedell. Those racers will square up against the Tri City faithful that is led by 2008 track champion, Carl McKinney, Alan Dellinger, Mike Potosky, Al Cressley, Bruce Powell, Butch Lambert along with Emod standouts, Dave Hess Jr. and Bryan Douglas and others from the tri-state region.

The action starts on Saturday as day one of the Oil Region Labor Day Classic kicks off featuring the World of Outlaw Late Models. UEMS teams will pull the their heat position pills and run their qualifying heats, consolation and the 20 lap main event that will see the winner go home $1000 richer! On Sunday the All-Star 30 will be on tap for the UEMS teams as they again go for another $1000 prize with lap money. With the pair of UEMS events on Labor Day weekend, the UEMS points can be shaken up quite a bit before heading into the Pittsburgher weekend on September 19-20 at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway as the UEMS teams head their inaugural visit and another thousand dollar to win event, which will feature the largest payout in the series first year of events!

ULMS Racing is excited about the McKean County Raceway FALL Classic helmet raffle that will begin during the Tri City Speedway Oil Region Labor Day Classic. Race fans and teams can enter to win a custom painted helmet by Cousins Designs that will be autographed by various Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Model drivers. The helmet will be raffled off after ULMS RaceFAN 50 on September 27 at McKean County Raceway.
