Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models Head To Tri City This SUNDAY

This Sunday night, the Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Models will make their second of three visits to Tri City Speedway in Franklin, Pennsylvania. The fans will be treated with a $11 ticket and witness a $2500 to win, 30 lap ULMS late model event. Titusville’s, Rob Blair will be looking to repeat his ULMS win from earlier this month at Tri City.

“The Razor”, Bob Close will lead the Northern Tier Inc ULMS late model contingent. Close holds a slim three point lead over, Waterford’s Dave Hess Jr. Close is coming off a three thousand dollar win this past weekend at Little Valley Speedway, while Hess had a pair of top ten finishes during the All Star Series Memorial Day weekend events. Brent Rhebergen has been fast all year and he sits third in points. The Clymer, NY driver has a pair of Emod wins the past few weekends and no doubt the all time Emod feature winner at Tri City will be looking to grab his first Northern Tier Inc. late model win. The man that won the last ULMS event was Cyclone, Pennsylvania’s, Jason Dupont. Dupont had a sure win taken away from him last weekend, but with a very popular win the week before at Arcade International Raceway, Dupont is using the momentum to over take Rhebergen or the third position in points. Mike Blose sits fifth in points a few points ahead of All Star Series point leader, Boom Briggs. Shinglehouse, PA driver Dave Norton Sr. sits currently in seventh in points ahead Jeff Hoffman, Mike Knight and Ed Carley.

Other drivers expected on hand, will be Blair who calls Tri City Speedway home. Hometown driver, Matt Lux will no doubt be on hand as well in the #21 Rocket Chassis. Former two-time ULMS champion, Dick Barton of Ashville along with, Rochester Mills, PA star, Gregg Satterlee who won the series opener ar McKean County Raceway. The RimRider, Ron Davies of Warren, PA will be back. Davies was leading the May 3rd event when his motor expired. Jared Miley of South Park, PA captured his biggest career win over the weekend at Central PA Speedway and appeared to been the fastest car in the inaugural ULMS event will thrill the fans again when he returns to the Franklin oval. Denton Boyer, Chris Farrell, local star, Darrell Bossard, Mickey Wright and Mike Johnson are all expected.

Racers are reminded, raceivers and transponders are mandatory at Tri City. They can be rented or purchased at the track. Pit Gates open at 2:30PM with hot laps at 5:15. There will be the standard ULMS entry fee of $20 or Northern Tier Inc ULMS entrants. Racing begins at 6PM. Also on the program will be the Emods, FASTRAK Late Models, Thundercars and ProStocks.
