NORTHERN TIER INC. ULMS LATE MODELS PRESENT MCR THURSDAY NIGHT THUNDER
Smethport native Chris Zuver’s Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Model Series will try again for the third time to get the Nancy Bly / Hazen Jordan Memorial dirt late model event in the books. The event has twice been postponed due to mother nature. The last time the ULMS cars graced the 3/8 mile oval located on the McKean County Fairgrounds in East Smethport, PA was May 9th The winner will receive a cool $2000 in their pocket for the special Thursday Night Thunder program on Thursday, July 16.
So far fifty three different teams from three states and two Canadian provinces have entered ULMS events this year. Gregg Satterlee won the season opening, Jim Duffy Memorial with a turn four, lap twenty eight pass on MCR standout and current Northern Tier Inc ULMS point leader, Bob Close. The ‘Razor”, Bob Close would come back to capture the May 9 Dave Lundgren Memorial. So far there has not been a repeat winner in the six ULMS events that have been completed this year. Fans can expect to see, Dave Hess Jr., Brent Rhebergen, Arcade – ULMS winner, Jason Dupont, Mike Blose, Jeff Hoffman, Ron Davies, Denton Boyer, Al Brewer, Ed Carley, Greg Oakes, Doug Ricotta, Luke Hoffner, Chris Farrell, Nick Loffredo, Bobby Stokes and others will be on hand.
A complete program of FASTRAK Late Models, Emods, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Mini Stocks will be joining the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models. Racing begins at 7 PM with gates opening at 430PM on Saturday, June 20. Tickets prices are $11 for adults, $9 for Sr citizen (62 yrs or older), $6 for youths (ages 11-16). The family pass is $25 and fans are reminded to sign up for the Ultimate Race Fan Package for the 4th Annual MCR Fall Classic that will be held on September 25 and 26.
MCR will be back in action on Thursday, August 6 for the annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial featuring the Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Models. This event will be the final tune up for the $12,000 to win Priority Care RaceFan 50 that will be held at the end of September.
