The Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series (UEMS) wll be making a return trip to Bobby Rohrer’s Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August. The UEMS Emods will be going 25 laps for $1000 to win. Brent Rhebergen won the previous UEMS visit at Eriez in May.
In May a quality field of 42 Emods were on hand and Clymer, New York’s, Brent Rhebergen picked up his first ever ULMS Racing Series win. Rhebergen who currently sits second in the ULMS late model points will no doubt be on hand in the Terry Suppa owned #4s Bob Pierce Chassis machine. He currently sits third in the UEMS points behind point leader and defending UEMS champion, Randy Hall and Russ Dunn.
Hall the 2009 Alltel Allstar champion just picked up a thousand dollar win this past Friday night at Raceway 7. Hall has fourteen wins so far this year with wins in four states. He also has a win at Eriez in July during the Clinger Memorial Emod classic. No doubt the Follman Rental Properties, Portville Truck, BMS #10 will be one of the contenders when the checkers fall. Russ Dunn sits second in the UEMS points, some thirty points behind Hall. Dunn knows it will only take one poor performance by the Hall #10 and his first ever win would tighten up the point chase tremendously as the series enter the September month of money events. Rhebergen sits fourteen points back of Dunn, mostly by his missing of the Tyler County event during Memorial Day weekend.
Jamestown’s, Greg Johnson is fourth in points. The #05 machine has been consistent runner so far in the five UEMS events. Johnson has a comfy 20 point lead over Tri City Emod star, Shawn Shingledecker who currently is in fifth in points and has a one point edge of Dave Hess Jr., who is still looking for his first ULMS Racing Series win in either the Emod or Late Model Series. Hess currently is fourth in Eriez Emod points and has four wins at his home track and was second to Rhebergen in the May UEMS event. Other UEMS entries expected on hand will be, Tim Peterson of Wilcox, PA, Mike Eschrich of Mt. Jewett, Justin Tatlow, Darren Tarabori in the v6 powered machine along with Kyle and Craig Bedell and southern invaders, Daryl Charlier of Midway Pennsylvania and Andre Layfield of Grafton, WV.
The UEMS faithful will have to go up against the Eriez stars of Rich Gardner in the James Clinger #222 house car. Rich Michael Jr of Ischua is second in Eriez points an no doubt will be looking for his first ever UEMS win. John Boyd and Mike Knight who just picked up his first ever ULMS Racing Series win in the late model series will no doubt be on hand in the second Clinger car. Throw in Stateline point leader, Justin Carlson and other Eriez notables such as Scott Gurdak and young Dan Davies and you have the making of a great field of cars.
The gates open at 4pm with racing hitting the track at 6PM. For more information check www.unitedlatemodelseries.com or www.eriez-speedway.com.
