10TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON GETS A LITTLE CLOSER TO GREEN FLAG
The first full weekend of March, means the annual R&R Motorsports Stock Car Show at the Olean Center Mall in Olean, New York. The ULMS Racing Series will be on hand celebrating their 10th anniversary season. “This is the kickoff for the countdown till spring and the upcoming racing season in our region,” commented, ULMS Racing Series Director, Chris Zuver.
The Olean Center Mall will be buzzing on Friday March 5th thru Sunday, March 7th with the 28th annual car show. Fans are encouraged to come out during the weekend to check out all the race cars on hand, get your schedules from your local tracks that will be on hand along with the ULMS Racing Series schedule that consists of 20 Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series events and 17 Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series (UEMS) events. It will be a very busy year for the ULMS family. ULMS Series drivers, Greg Oakes, Vic Vena and Mike Eschrich will have their cars on hand. Oakes finished sixth in the 2010 Northern Tier Inc ULMS points. Eschrich finished eighth in his first full year in the UEMS series. Vena will have his car on display in the UEMS booth as he is fresh off returning from competing at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida during the final week of January.
Fans can stop by at the ULMS booth to get their 2010 schedule, watch various ULMS Racing Series events from 2010 that will be shown all weekend. Also, there will be a memorial benefit going on Friday and Saturday at the ULMS booth in memory of ULMS videographer and friend, Matt Wheeler who passed away on February 25, 2010 from a lengthly illness. There will be numerous items on hand that will be raffled off on Saturday night at the annual car show party, with all proceeds going to the Wheeler family.
