MERCER ADDS NEW UEMS E-MODS TO MARCH 29 “CHILLER THRILLER”
January 9, 2008
After much discussion, Mercer Raceway Park has announced it’s fourth and final division for it’s season opener on Saturday, March 29. The E-Mods will again be part of the “Chiller Thriller,” but with a new twist as the event will be sanctioned by the new United E-Mod Series (UEMS). The E-Mods will join the Steel-Block Late Models, Stock Cars, and Mini Stocks.
A great payoff has been established as the winner will now receive $750 rather than the $500 that was posted for the prior two “Chiller Thriller” events. $500 will now go to second with $65 to take the green. For a complete payoff and more info on the United E-Mod Series, check out their website at www.unitedlatemodelseries.com.
“Our main concern with having the E-Mods was car count,” explained 10th year owner Vicki Emig. “When UEMS announced they were starting an E-Mod Series we felt this was a way to insure a good field of cars and keep the E-Mods a part of the Chiller Thriller. We’ve enjoyed working with Chris Zuver of ULMS in the past with the Late Models and he feels he’s going to have a strong following and we can get a good turnout of the northern cars.”
The event will carry a rain date of Saturday, April 5. For more information, check out Mercer’s web site at www.mercerracewaypark.com
UEMS Emods at Black Rock April 12
November 19, 2007
The new United Emod Series (UEMS) have booked their first date for the 2008 inaugural season for Saturday, April 12 at Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY. The purse will be announced at a later date and the event will be a 25 lap affair. Race time is set for 4PM with an open practice the night before (April 11).
Dean Hoag was the first track to contact ULMS Racing in regards to the new emod series and I am very pleased to have the new series a part of Black Rock’s season opener. Driver response has been tremendous towards the inaugural season with racer from Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York expressing interest in following the 2008 UEMS season. Talks are still on going with two other New York tracks for emod events and initial talks are on going for the United Late Model Series 2008 race dates.
More additional news will be forthcoming in the weeks to come throughout the winter in regards with the ULMS Racing series.
