ULMS GOES EMOD RACING IN 2008

After several months of speculation and requests, the United Late Model Series will grow with a second series. The ever growing and popular EMODS will have their own series in the northern tier starting in 2008 racing season.
“I was approached over the summer about possibly doing a series in 2008 for the Emods,” stated, Chris Zuver, the director of the United Late Model Series (ULMS). “I discussed the idea with a few drivers privately and those drivers like the idea and the possibility of a little series for their class,” Zuver continued. Thus, the result for 2008 is the all-new ULMS Emod Series.
Race teams can expect the series to target the western Pennsylvania, western New York and eastern Ohio region for events. “The biggest thing, I want to try to do is work with the weekly tracks and help benefit the racers of this class that has always been a support division.” “Also, I am keeping the payout as affordable as you can for this series,” stated Zuver. Any track should be able to afford a ULMS Emod series event. There are two purses being offered and the winner’s share is either $750 or $1000 to win. Tow money will also be offered. The 2008 rules will be released soon, but teams can expect them to be the same as McKean County Raceway EMOD rules.
The United Late Model Series wants to ensure the dirt late model race teams and fans that the series is not turning its back on the late model series. Several ideas are in the works for 2008 already for the ULMS late models. Also, both the Emod and late model teams will have an affordable entry fee for their sanctioned events in 2008. The Emod teams will have a $10 entry fee for all events and the late model teams will have a $20 entry fee for all events that pay less than $5000 to win.
